The Professional Photographers of Iowa (PPI) hosts various competitive print competitions. Anyone is welcome to enter but only members of PPI are eligible to win awards.

PPI WINTER 2024 PRINT COMPETITION

Print Entry Deadline:  Tuesday February 27th at 10pm CST

Virtual Print Judging:  February 28th starting at 9am - ???

Awards Ceremony:  March 23rd at 7pm at Winter Convention

This year we are planning to have a print show of some of the winning images at Winter Convention, thus the competition is being held earlier than in the past so we can accommodate printing and planning of the show! We hope this promotes participation in the future and will be a fun place for attendees of Winter Convention to congregate, share and encourage each other.

WHY ENTER PRINT COMP? Entering Print Competition is a great way to take a step back and evaluate your work. Watch the judging to learn how to improve your skills and offer the best product to your clients. Not only that but WIN AWARDS to add credibility to your business and attract clients who value your art.

What awards can you win?  Heres a list of potential awards:

First, second or third place in up to 4 of 35 categories.
Don Knop Memorial Award (wedding)
Frank Medlar Award (portrait)
Top Ten Photographer of Iowa in Master and Non-Master 

Photographer of the Year (highest scoring case)

There are many other awards given at the Award Ceremony, don't miss the chance to up your game and become a winner!



How to enter

1.  Become a current PPI member to be eligible for awards.  If you need to renew or join click the button above.
2.  Download and read the Print Competition Rules.  Find them linked above.
3.  Log into PrintCompetition.com to register and submit entries to PPIowa Competition.  Make sure to print the entry form and all print labels after submitting, if competition is in person.

ATTN: Please watch for Non-Master and Master Categories when submitting entries.

PrintCompetition.com is a great resource for both the day of judging and looking at other past print competitions. There is a $12 annual fee that will give you the availability to watch the judging live online. Additional tiers of pay allow you access to past events. You can sign up to get text notifications when your print is about to be judged and another with the score.
